No picture of the lake? I’m going to steal this and in a few weeks claim it’s a picture from my Detroit grotto or San Franciso town house or Albany apartment. And there’s not a goddam thing you can do about it.

I wonder what that couch is-

It’s really busy. Also, what are those chairs, how do you even sit in them?

those b&w pictures that blast your eyes when you first look must be quite the conversation starters.

To each their own, I guess

Too much of everything. Don’t know where to look 🫣

It’s too busy; there are sharp edges on the coffee table; the little stool looks flimsy; the beige sofas look uncomfortable and face back to the fireplace; people will knock their head on the top lamp; the pictures are vulgar; the yellow, green pillows mixed with the brown sofa look like puke; a carpet right in front of a fireplace is a terrible idea.
So….. at first glance, it’s horrible.

Those photographs of a woman with fried eggs on her chest are of/by the very famous British artist Sarah Lucas in case anyone is wondering

this room would be so improved by replacing the rug with a solid color

Well. I like the wood panels, anyway.

Are those real pepperonis?
Seattleopolis
I like the built-in shelves and wall paneling. Everything else is awful, or awful in combination.

Tacky AF.

When I look at each piece in the space I feel mildly unsettled but as a whole I’m surprised by how much I like it.
Absolutely adore that double long arm sconce though!!
Jadziyah
It’s giving me a firm aesthetic vibe but I can’t quite put my finger on what it is

I can’t overstate how unsettling those photographs are.

My lord this is horrid! The nipple shirt pics, striped grungy rug, shiny wood paneling ugh just so damn ugly. Money cannot buy taste 🤣

fwiw: I didn’t even see the eggs until a second time on my feed! I was too busy looking at that soapstone mantle and those crazy chairs.

Love everything except this B&W photos.

Born in the late 50s, grew up in the 60’s – that’s what it looked like all right. Except for the boob pics…
maricopa888
They had a burst of good taste when they got that coffee table. I legit love that!
Otherwise, they’re trying to incorporate all known decorating styles into one tiny room. Coffee table deserves better.

Does anyone know the name of the little hooks attached to the top of the wood panels? They’re holding up the pictures.

I love it!

This room is great. I enjoy your perspective. It’s appealing to me and the mix of textures and artwork is eye-heaven.
I want that sofa!
JuJuFoxy
I like it, it’s tasteful and playful, but for some reason I find it a bit too busy and crowded. I would rid the b/w pictures and hang them somewhere else, so that at least one wall is relatively empty and quiet and not overwhelming.

It seems both modern and dated.
OP, is this your place?
