But did they keep the ’60s wood paneling on the walls?

Why are the…pears?…not all contained in the bowl?! Why are there just extra fruit lying around?!

It’s not my style, yet I absolutely love it 😊

Australians really are at the forefront of interior design atm

Hey, we have an open space that will be a high traffic area of our kitchen let’s put a prickly cactus there! And not one of those that is growing straight up, let’s have it leaning into our walk area.

the cactus leaning in to frame edge and pair placement distracting

Very pleasing. Though idk about keeping a cactus in the middle of your kitchen…

A classic kitchen properly updated without destroying the whole kitchen

The cabinets are my favourite part! Love the splash of colour

I love the original cabinets. Also love the touches of green. My favourite colour; the first thing I spotted was the tea towel!
Edit: not the original cabinet doors, but so much more in keeping with the era. I was fooled.

Love it!

I’m fascinated by the photoshopping that goes on with articles like this – obviously they removed the two very prominent black power outlets under the centre of that shelf for these hero shots, but to me it takes away from the documentary nature of talking about the renovation and the practical nature of it. They’re presenting an unrealistic image just for looks, but how it is to live in is, to me, just as important a part of the story.

This is really sharp. The bright yellow really sends it.
Notwithstanding, I’m a sucker for a clean Aussie kitchen in original condition like the one in Paul Hogan’s set back in the day. Impossible here, anyway as it was already renoed.
