100% Chenin, no surprises here. Olivier Humeau has been working a while with Antoine Foucault, from Domaine du Collier and his Chenins are glorious.
A very intense wine, the nose was very Chenin style with a hint of citrus, maybe even preserved. You know you’re in for a great time. The wine is free, full of energy with a ringing acidity that strikes immediately. It’s incredibly fresh, no traces of oak or anything that would rounden it up. The print on the palate is perfect, with this ripe citrus touch, and bitters and viscosity that arrive within minutes of opening in the glass. It’s chiseled, with a slight chalky finish that just brings a perfect texture. It’s definitely going to get better with time, and it’s already a very nice take on Chenin Blanc.
