If you want to do it right and have the budget, changing the backsplash, flooring, pendant light and pantry overhead light would make a huge difference. The choices on those are awful.. and make it look sterile. Cabinets you can work with. Make sure all your lights/bulbs have same color temp, including undercabinet (backsplash) lights. I prefer 3500 k max bulb color for kitchen.

[Emerald green, textured long subway installed straight stack with black grout.](https://www.cementocollection.com/products/handmade-3×12-emerald-green-glossy-undulated-subway-tile?variant=42734254129387&currency=USD&utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=shopping&utm_content=Emerald+Green+Subway+Tile+-+3×12+inches+box).

Without knowing floors in rest of place, I’d prefer to see a natural oil finished white oak to bring warmth, dampen sound and be several shades darker than cabinets to ‘ground’ it. Large natural fiber rugs could be a budget friendly option. I have [This Rug](https://a.co/d/9DQvYFm) in my kitchen and it’s not hard to clean.

Hanging light is harder to choose without knowing breakfast table, but I’d lean modern/Scandinavian using natural materials with minimal details. Replacing pantry overhead with coordinating mini chandelier type would be more interesting. Make sure all of them are dimmable.

Painting the ceiling/walls darker could make it feel more cozy with the high ceilings as well.. and as always.. **plants**.

What exactly are you concerned about? The entire thing? It looks brand new. In my opinion, changing the backsplash would make a world of difference.

Change out the pulls. The contrast is too much with the glossy white cabinets.

I’ve seen Operating Rooms with more character.

Black pulls would work but not these. Smaller ones

I’d go with brushed stainless pulls on all cabinets and drawers. Definitely change the back splash. It doesn’t fit or flow right with the colors. Tue floors…. Personally I’m on the fence about but that’s me. I would go less grey all the way around the room though. The room as I see it in these pictures seems to strike and lifeless.
Pops of color around the counters and so on would really change the vibe for sure.

The easiest way to fix this ( and the cheapest) would be to paint the room in a darker color.

A natural wood island would and a rug runner in front of the sink would really soften and ground the space. Better light fixtures would help too.
