I’ve previously only lived in apartments with recirculating microwave range hoods that obviously didn’t do much. When I moved into my new house, it came with a cheap hood that barely vented because of the low CFM. Finally I bit the bullet and got a proper range hood installed. I’ve only used it a couple of times, but the difference it made was tremendous — I could not smell any food/cooking odor just 6 ft away from the range!

Not gunna lie. I have range hood envy. We just did out kitchen and a range hood was kind of … well … definitely isn’t if the budget due to many things other than the cost.
That looks absolutely awesome though. The a dine a good thing for your kitchen.

I always see people cutting kitchen costs by cheaping out on the hood. It’s crazy how many of them at a certain price point are practically useless

    Jealous!

Bf just last week: “hey, honey, you know what our RV has that neither one of our houses has?! A real hood vent over the stove! That vents outside!”

I’m loving the functionality of your kitchen. The representation of each station: coffee, rice, IP/meats, mixer/baking. With Dutch ovens and basket steamer at the ready on the stovetop. It presents an overall beautiful elegance. Lovely. Thank you for sharing.

Omg I LOVE your oven especially, but this whole setup is beautiful! Definitely jealous!

That looks awesome. Do you know how high the hood is and how far it comes out from the wall? Basically, can your head hit it?

My smoke detectors fire almost every time we make dinner at home and I’ve been thinking about a new range hood. My range hood captures almost none of the smoke because the fans are toward the rear of the unit where it doesn’t even completely hover over the back burners. Also, I’m sure the CFM rating is low. My stove is on an interior wall but there is a vent that drops down to the basement, then under the kitchen to the outside. From what I’ve read, the vents also need to be large enough for the CFMs.

In my case, I would have to remove a cabinet above the vent to get anything like what you have.
