Before and after After

My house looked sad and sterile as a consequence of moving in two weeks before giving birth. I am wrapping up maternity leave number two and am so pleased with my before and after of my living room, at last (sans the giant TV that I hate with a passion).

The hardest part for me in this room was finding the right rug that would fit the mood I was looking to create; I looked for months and months straight as it needed to fit certain criteria. I have a toddler and a baby so something that doesn’t show too much dirt yet can be easy to clean was a must, and I hate washable rugs with a passion. I’ve finally settled on Loloi’s Layla collection in Ocean/Multi and I just love it.

I found my coffee table and side table shown in the back off of Facebook marketplace in perfect condition, it is beautiful wood constructed in the 70’s. Still looking to add coffee table decor that is child friendly (if there is such thing).

I added Amazon curtains and I was shocked how much I like them as I was on a budget but also conscious of quality. I wanted the rug to do the majority of the talking in this room, but I am very happy to be able to pull out my traditional Palestinian tatreez pillows and wall art to give it some notes of my culture with everything seemingly flowing well. Overall, I’m pleased. And lastly, now to convince my husband to put this monstrosity of a tv upstairs. Thoughts and prayers, y’all.
