  1. The pastries and baguettes in Paris are so inexpensive and high quality compared to the U.S. (or at least California) that I can count on dropping into almost any boulangerie or patisserie and finding something that will blow my mind! I've not been disappointed very often, so I definitely wouldn't go to a place that's this crowded.

  2. I know you didn't want to stay until 4, but did you ever find out which is the best baguette? I'm curious.

  3. This is going on my bucket list. I was in Paris mid April and, although I have a severe gluten intolerance, I was able to eat all of the bread in Europe with no reaction whatsoever. I think it was quality and digestibility of the wheat, the lack of additives, and lack of RoundUp (we drench our wheat in it in the U.S., to dry it out before harvest). The croissants in Paris were like a little taste of heaven for me!

  4. I have a medical procedure early tomorrow morning and so I can't eat anything today. This was the wrong video to watch. 🤣 Loving all the baked goods though! Something to look forward to. Thanks for all you do putting these videos together.

  5. Jean: "Cent percent" while speaking in English took me out. It was adorable.

But I agreed with both of you – when you said it was a weekend and it was being held outside Notre Dame, I wondered why they would do that because of the crowds. What you experienced explained it – definitely not an experiential festival of bread.

  6. "It feels like I could throw this at you and it would hurt.” LOL, a new way to test food texture. Food can’t hurt when you throw it at people. I’m laughing so much. hahahaha Love it!

  7. Paris has my favorite bread in the world on a daily basis….. so not sure if there needs to be a bread festival 🤣. When my granddaughter, and I were on our flight home from Paris last month we were both distressed that we would not be waking up to have our morning baguettes 🥖😍.

  8. Please, please don’t tell Jean not to use French words! Both of you, please DO use some French words and phrases – I LOVE it!!! J’en adore!!!🌹❤️ It just floors me how some other YouTubers would live in Paris for over 5 years and still can’t speak the language. So, thank you Arielle and Jean, your proper French is music to my ears!

  9. Here I am came back to the US a week before the most important week 😭 so glad you went and post this video ❤

  10. We went to the Fete yesterday and bought a few items, including 2 of the sandwiches and pain chocolat. It was all very tasty and fresh and the service was friendly while keeping the line moving. There were tourists from so many countries, and we do feel the Fete organizers were informing and encouraging people to shop at the local bakeries in Paris. We thought perhaps there is a lot of competition for the traditional bakeries from the small markets everywhere and this is to boost interest in French traditions. And yes, it was not an all day event- a fun short stop on our full day of exploring Paris tho! Thanks for all of your great Paris videos- I used so much info from you both on this trip!

  11. I love hearing Jean speak in French. Always looking to add vocabulary to my limited knowledge of French.

  12. I was there yesterday. No line. They were speaking in both French and English when I was there . Loved it! The things were fresh, fresh, fresh. Got a baguette, chausson, and pain au chocolat. All very good. Good prices.

  13. I loved this Vlog! I’ve really enjoyed your content. I don’t know if I will ever visit Paris, but you are really fun to watch! My favorite is your podcast with your friend, Laura/Lauren (sorry). I like hearing Jeans opinions of things as well! Congrats on the upcoming wedding! I really liked all your wedding dress episode! You did so well showing all the different places one can go! Thanks for sharing all you do! Aloha, M

  14. Loving that Jean is more comfortable on camera. His opinion usually kills me, but also a true French perspective is fascinating 👏

  15. @arielle don’t stop Jean from sharing his thoughts and opinions, even en Francais 😂😂😂

  16. i think jean is very right he knows what he is talking about you guys two couple which is amazing i love it thank you merci

  17. Dressed and out the door with no coffee? NO.

You're so right. I have found that both London and Paris while busy on weekend afternoons, are almost deserted on weekend mornings. The earlier the better.
The quiche at 5e is only $5.88 at today's exch rate. Tourist trap.
You two were made for each other. Fun to listen to Jean drop his H's. You wished your mother a Happy Mother's Day today right?

  18. I have been to this display and competition in past years. With the crowds and lines waiting to go into the cathedral I am surprised they could find room for the tents!I am glad to see it is working out 😊

  19. It interesting to watch them make croissants but I’d just buy at the great shops in my neighborhood.

  20. I really enjoy your videos. I’ve always wanted to visit France and the two of you give a well rounded tour of what it is like there.
