We are buying a house with an entry hallway with art nooks. There are two shallow nooks for pictures. Further down the hall and adjacent to the kitchen, there is a larger cutout with a rounded back (pic).
We are minimalists. We don't have any paintings or even family pictures on our walls. We don't own any knick-knacks or shelved decor items.
I'm thinking mirrors for the picture sized spaces, but what do I do with this giant hole in the wall? This house is probably getting sold in 5-6 years, so I'm not looking to drywall over it either.
Leaving the space empty seems…odd. I'm not opposed to putting something there, but buying some random sculpture or vase for it seems disingenuous.
I've seen these filled with floating shelves, but the curved back makes that more difficult, and then I would just have MORE empty space for smaller things I don't own. 🤣
Help?
